All the work that was to be complete this fall is done.  The foundation is in, the slab is down, the water and radiant heat tubing are in.  Isn’t it beautiful?

This is taken from the farthest corner of the family room looking to the most opposite corner.  It’s HUGE!

Now, although this work is done and we won’t pick it back up again until mid-March, there is still tons to be done.  Tons of decisions that is.  I’ve been working closely with our kitchen designer, Sue, to finalize all the cabinets in the house.  She has outdone herself on the design.  As soon as I scan them into the computer, I’ll be sharing them with you.

In the meantime, we’ve been deciding on interior doors and balustrades.  If you remember, we have a bonus room over the garage and the stairs leading to that needs a balustrade.  I’ve been working with our architect to come up with a design.  He is recommending wooden stairs with a runner and a balustrade for half the staircase rather than a wall all the way.  This is a style I like.

Craig just informed me that he feels it’s too “colonial” for our home.  Gee, I wish he’d said something before our architect started down the path of this as a design.  Guess I’ll be sending him an email soon!  What do you think?

As for the interior doors, we’ve counted 21 of them.  Not sure if that’s a lot or not.  Craig likes this style.

I like this style.  Not necessarily the color, but the style.

Which style do you prefer?  Let me know what you think.  Meanwhile, I’ll be scanning the cabinet designs so I can share them here.

And have a very happy Thanksgiving everyone!  Enjoy time with your family and friends.  Next year at this time, we’ll be in our new home!  I can’t wait.

These Just In!

More pictures.

This looks like a massive number of colorful snakes.

More colorful snakes.

I found out that the orange tubing is the radiant heating.  The red and blue tubing is hot and cold water.  Go figure!
