Archive for January, 2011

My friend, Carrie, in a previous post on the cabinet style I’ve chosen and cabinet hardware, suggested that I use different hardware in each room.  Since the cabinets would be the same throughout the house, this would be a nice accent.  What a brilliant idea!  Taking her suggestion to heart, I’ve been perusing websites for various cabinet knobs and pulls.  Here’s what I’ve found.

Wine Room

One of the websites I’ve been looking through is Knobs and Hardware.  They have a large selection and that’s where I found this one.  I think it would be fabulous for the wine room.  This particular one has wooden sides but there are others that are metal.  I’m leaving the final choice up to my husband, since this is his room, but he seems quite taken with this style.

Non-kitchen rooms

Now, I know I’ve said in previous posts that I would like this house to be mountain classic without the antlers.  Antlers are just not our style–no mounted heads or that sort of thing.  However, another friend, Jennifer, suggested we buy silver antlers as a nod to the antler.  I liked that idea.  Then I saw these cabinet pulls.

Wouldn’t these look great in, say, the laundry room?  Or perhaps the living room?  There will be enclosed shelves in the living room which will need cabinet pulls.  There are other big game cabinet pulls and knobs at Hardware Accents

In addition to big game, there is also a large selection at the same website for various nature themes.  For example, this I’m thinking about for, perhaps, the guest bathrooms.

I do rather like some of these.  You can view a large selection at this website.

Kitchen

Both websites have a wide variety of themes.  As you can imagine, probably one of the largest is for kitchen cabinets.  There are ones that identify the contents of the cabinets, like this.

Or this.

And this.

You can even buy blank pulls and have whatever you want engraved on them.  Then there is also this style.

This would be rather fun for the Butler’s Pantry, yes?

Oh my, so many choices, so little time!  In about 2 months, framing should commence.  Yikes!  Where is the time going?  I better get on some of these decisions quickly.
